Explanation on Ending - What's on the bottle - Dreamatol (spoiler)

Yea, I figured I'd go give that scene another look...

Dreamatol
100 Ibuproofren 200 mg CAPLETS, USB

Dream Enhancer / Fever Inducer

Indications:
For the relief of pain at its outbusrt, take as
many pills as you can swallow until dreams
overtake your perception of reaity. Be cautions
of the amount only when concerned with returning to
reality. Otherwise, take the entire bottle for
a simple disconnection from the pain of existance.

This reinforces what I figured, he is disconnected from reality from the word go. Every scene in this movie is an interpretation of reality which can lead one to draw many conclusions. The fact that this bottle has a label like this was really fun to find, as it is hard evidence that this man has gone thru the looking glass. It is likely he's still in bed staring at the hole in the ceiling, while the film lets us watch his subconcious deconstruct (or construct) events around his wife until we end where we start, hole in the ceiling. She could be dead, could have run off, could be pregnant, could have cheated. Or it could be that he's not married and just really lonley, or is it looney? :)

Its ironic as Ibuprofen (ibuproofren doesnt exist, i expect intentional misspelling) is anti-fever drug.

It was intentionally misspelled on the bottle. I thought the same thing.

It actually said that on the pill bottle? Wouldn't that also be his imagination seeing as pills like that don't exist? Curiouser and curiouser.

reply

Indeed it did, I digitally captured a still image and was able to use tools to easily view the details.

If you accept "dream interpretations" of what pill popping symbolizes, a quick easy fix to a problem, it makes sense that there is crazy stuff on label. Whether he's delusional, stuck in a lucid dream or unconscious, it makes sense that he's masking reality with something more palatable to justify what he believes is right. It's been a while, I may just have to dust off my copy for fun.

That's a great piece of info, thank you! Makes the film make a bit more sense.
