Jake

I think Jake was the most tragic case, even though they wer all awful - even the way he was conceived is awful. His downward spiral seemed the quickest and most dramatic. awful. i also wish we knew what happened to oreo - he seemed like a sweet kid.

Yeah Jake went from drug user trying to figure out what to do to out right crazed junkie. It makes you feel bad about those people on the street talking to themselves. Most of these people have no one to turn to.

<3 Jake. I really hope he's in a better place now. The saddest thing though is that the best the people in this movie can ever hope for in life is getting clean and maintaining a job so they live up to our expectation towards everyone to fulfill his god given role as a tax paying employee. As a best case scenario, that is a most depressing image imho.

Sadly, Jake died in 2000. Ben also passed away. I am not sure of the year tho. I think it was close to the same time Jake died.

I agree. It was sad. You could tell that towards the end of the documentary, that a lot of damage to him had been done. I felt sorriest for him.

I saw this on a post about the video on http://www.thefix.com/content/best-drug-addiction-documentaries90643?page=all

This was what Tracey H had to say in response.

I agree. I (Tracey H) was in the movie Black Tar heroin and i get contacted by people all around the world who say the movie has impacted them. I have been clean for 14 1/2 years (I was clean when the movie was released), Jake is dead (he was clean but relapsed after getting off MMT), Oreo is off drugs with a family, Alice is clean, ben died of an overdose (RIP). Ive seen jessica recently. I didn't get to talk to her but she looked pretty good."
