Why is every man a douche in this?

Was it written by a woman who'd just been dumped?

A wife beater. A psycho girlfriend-killer. A dude who rapes his own son. A son who burns his Dad. A lawyer who shags around. And yet all the women seem to come off as victims in their own way.

Well you've done the easy bit and answered the rhetorical question. Fancy a crack at the real thing?

Director: A man
Writers: Two men

i guess the OP is very insecure about himself, just like Donnie Barksdale, so he can't look beyond the gender curtain.

Yeah, and he shut up pretty quick. Best not to ask questions you're not sure you want answered. Better yet, do your own research.

Not true. Valerie is a cowardly victim and a doormat who misses a guy who brutalised her everyday. Katie,s character sleeps with many guys and even ready to marry a man for status. Buddy's mum kept silently while her husband destroyed poor buddy thru childhood. The sheriff and mr king wrre good people! Now I won't say you are misogynistic bud like the way you doubted the makers!:)

Yes Hilary Swank's character was pretty awful, not only does she say she misses Donnie she didn't seem to care that he was threatening/intimidating Cate Blanchett's character because she was trying to help her, and she gave the lawyer info to make her look stupid on stand. She also says a girl deserved to be murdered because she slept with her wife-beating husband. She was not a sympathetic character.

I'm a man but I have to admit: men, in the real world, in real life, are usually "douchebags". Women are generally better. But, like nimstic and shayneferry said, there are clear examples of negative female behavior.
