Hilary swank's character was pathetic, I had zero sympathy for her

In fact I wanted her to be killed

Is there another actress who gets beat up more often than Hilary Swank? It seems like it's become her specialty.

Crazy. I was thinking the same thing lmao. Boys Don't Cry came to mind.

That makes two of us. In fact, I wanted to be the one to do it. 

Her mind is warped. Who knows what childhood she endured. If she had a good Male role model and saw what a healthy relationship was.

I agree her "character" was "pathetic". We hear so much about women going back again and again only to be continued to be used as a punching bag. When Donnie was sent to prison you'd think she would jump for joy. But no, she was deverstated because she'd never been alone, didn't have someone telling her what to do. Good acting, I was wishing, like Annie, please leave him, but she didn't know how.

That's actually really typical behavior from victims of abuse, female or male. The abuser makes the abused feel worthless, which is why so many don't leave. Also there's the "it's better than nothing" idea. If she left, she might not have anywhere to go, he could find her at work, etc. I don't blame her at all.

That said, I thought the character was kind of cliched. Sort of the typical abused woman character.

It must be awful to go through life with no empathy for your fellow human beings.
