They suck! They surely do!

At the Chrissy party Jack is talking to a couple of his mates.
One of them says so and so scored 30 points and will take whatever team it was to the championship.
Jack says "Them? They suck" They all look at him dumbfounded so he says "But they do, they surely do" then they nod in agreement with him.
Why do they look at him in shock horror, then they nod when he says they do?
I don't get it.

No cash here!! Here, no cash!!! Cash, no!!!! Robbo? No Cash!

He's actually saying, 'But they're due, they're surely due.' As in The Nets were due for a win, which is why the others agreed. Hope that helps

They are apparently all fans of the Nets and always hopeful they will do well. Jack doesn't know this an says they suck. They are confused because the Jack they know would never say that. Then he turns positive and says "they're due", which they agree with.
