I always wondered why Jack didn't tell Kate he had amnesia when he disappeared Christmas morning?
Amnesia is a medical condition and would require a trip to the doctor, who would have said nothing is wrong. So his lie woul have been implausible. Plus he still was confused and wasn't thinking clearly anyway.
