Dust

In the movie the guys are saying, "Dust" in sendoff to each-other. What does this slang mean? I can't decode it.

The first time we hear it, Chris says it to Paul at the laundrette. I think in all honesty that this is just a joke on Paul by Chris, I pick up a slight mocking tone in Chris' voice when he says it. As if to say "He doesn't even know that this is completely stupid".

But if it is for real, I would imagine it is to do with how dust flies up when Cowboys ride off, or when Wagon's roll, or in reference to the saying "You won't see me for dust"

Remember in high school when popular kids would be nice to some nerd they wanted to cheat off and act like they were friends even though they had no intention of doing anything with them outside of school?

It was meant to be like that, I think.

but they didnt cheat off him, they were more bothered by him. But they kept him around because they thought they could help him and mold him into someone like them. I did something similar with a guy from school.

no, they wanted to use him for his place. They didn't want to mold him into them, they wanted him to help them, did you not get they were only out for themselve?

I probably wasn't articulate enough in my earlier post.
They were making him feel like he belonged in the group so they could get something they wanted out of him.
