The Everclear scene....

When Paul is at the Everclear concert (I can't stand Everclear anyway) and they're performing you can clearly tell that Art Alexakis is lipsynching.

I know it's just a movie but if you're going to lipsynche your own sh!tty music the least you can do is not make it obvious by singing "away from" your microphone.

It's also unbelievably obvious that the drummer is playing the wrong drums and out of sync, the guitar and bass are strumming out of rhythm and - this one threw me for a loop - everclear sucks! I know, I know, how can a band named after 200-proof alcohol be unbearable to listen to. Somehow, they found a way.

reply

Yeah I noticed that too about the drums and guitar/bass. BTW I think Everclear is only 190 proof. Still lethal.

Split the difference - ethanol outside of a vacuum can only reach about 96%ABV. Yes, lethal, drink it at 140 proof though and you'll neber hhaf noooo wurry s :D

I agree that everclear sucks. They're terrible and if I had to hear one more harmonized grunt between Art and the greasy little bass player I'd puke.

That being said, the person you really should be blaming for the terrible sync in that scene is the editor. They undoubtedly shot that scene a ton of times with the playback, but they decided on those visual scenes even though they didn't line up with the actual music.

I would have been perfectly happy if they'd just had that scene develop into a killing rampage that started with at least three bullets toward the stage.

Liberty Bell, if you put one more baco on that potato I'm going to kick your little monkey butt.
