This is the movie 'The Apartment' yes?

This is pretty much the same movie at the Jack Lemmon movie "The Apartment", was it supposed to be or was it just an unoriginal movie?

I just watched The Apartment again and realized how similar the two plots are!...of course The Apartment is awesome and this film is a steaming pile of horse crap, but they're still pretty similar.

I think it steals a few general ideas from "The Apartment," but they are definitely two totally different movies.

I disagree. It's a direct rip-off of The Apartment and a very bad one at that right from the dialogue, acting, bizarre soundtrack and token guest star appearances.

There are similarities, no doubt, but fundamental differences abound. The professor never broke up with the girl, and was black-mailed, and had her move in with him, and had no authority over the principal character. Not to mention the roommates and the roofies. Other than that, I am absolutely appalled !

I just saw "The Apartment" again, and yes, you could almost pull scenes out of that movie and fit in into "Loser" (esp. the part where Dora got drugged and had to spend the 2 days at Paul's place - hello?)

Movies borrow from each other all the time, but this is just too much! I thought at least this movie would make some kind of homage to "The Apartment" but it didn't.

Not to mention When Harry Met Sally, the Graduate (Parley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme being played), Ferris Bueller (Art Museum scene)etc., etc.)

Yeah, it's a loose adaptation, and a terrible one at that.

LOL that's crazy, I just notice. Well I love both to be honest. The Apartment was something I watched with my parents, and deeply love. But this one is a part of my generation. I was 12 when I first saw this, and I actually like the music as well as I love Mena Suvari. I kinda care for both.
