Extended Version
Is there a way to get your hands on the original 3 and a half hour cut of this? I've wanted to see it since I researched this a few months back.

Yeah its kind of confusing that imdb lists an extended cut but that its not available. I only found an interview that says this cut exists, but only a handful people have seen it. I dont really see the point of listing the extended cut on this site if they didn't release it for the public..
Veni, Vidi, Vodka.
Yeah, the Wikipedia page even specifically mentions a work print that Scorsese privately circulates.
He said he'll never release it because he doesn't believe in doing more than one version, but what about New York, New York?
This movie really needs a director's cut. It's hard to fully embrace because it's such a fragmentary mess.
Someday, for posterity's sake, there should be a home video release with the theatrical cut, the workprint, and an isolated original music track with Elmer Bernstein's rejected score. The movie does not feel complete. Weird that Scorsese would support restoring other American classics, but not his own?
