This reply thread reminds me of a Simpson's episode. There was a television casting director looking for an ugly guy for her soap opera. Moe wanted to try acting so he went. An underling gave him the job but when he showed up on set the casting director was like, "Whoa! When I said cast an 'ugly' person, I meant SHOWBIZ UGLY and not UGLY UGLY".
Showbiz ugly is kind of annoying because any dolt with eyes can see the person is decent, if not good, looking. Putting some dorky glasses on Rachael Leigh Cook (She's All That) does NOT make her an ugly chick. :P
