It wouldve been cool if Future Trunks came back

Maybe they'd create some plot device to travel into the future this time to retrieve something and they run into Trunks.

It would be better than having GT trunks from GT and having Kid Trunks in Dragon Ball Super

I like Future Trunks

Most of us seem to prefer Future Trunks over the original Trunks. He definitely is a lot better than the GT Trunks.

Technically, Future Trunks IS the original Trunks since he met him first and his timeline existed first.
