Batman vs Superman trailer

That trailer was interesting.

It's all the stuff I would expect from current Superman (still trying to earn a place in the world, being feared and hated and targeted) and current Batman (tough, cynical, crazy-prepared, able to defeat Superman).

I did like how Wonder Woman looked, though, that was refreshingly new and nice. And Luthor appears to be a combo of Gene Hackman (affable, but can get mean and nasty) and Michael Rosenbaum (young and arrogant); the bit with Mercy Graves and Zod and the Kryptonite were fascinating.

All in all, I am interested and impressed. For a debut into the DCCU, this looks like it will be quite a blast.

Hm: I didn't notice. I've never heard of a real dude that could really fly.

Superman reinforces the whole truth in the light thing, I can see if someone established a connection with stories of another ancient man.

Two things I didn't really like:

1) Eisenberg looks so laughable with that wig.
2) The actress playing Wonder Woman looks thin as fúck. Damn.

Aside that, this definitely will be an awesome 2016 movie!

Batman or Superman, who do I want to win? Batman.
Who's stronger Batman or Superman? Superman.

It's hard to imagine Batman defeating Superman because Bats' just a man while Supes got actual superpowers.

Perhaps. The girl looked good. 

I can tell already that I'm going to be annoyed with Lex Luthor, both from his stupid face/hair and his obnoxious rants. The previous film iterations of him were much better, in fact I think that can be said of every character in this imo. I hope that heat vision wasn't really coming from Superman, he wouldn't murder anyone if he didn't absolutely have to. In terms of cgi and action scenes this film looks like it will deliver.

 They make a Batman vs Superman movie which people have wanted desperately for the past 20 years and people just complain about it when they do get it.

I really liked the trailer, I appreciate that this is going to be Batman and Superman on the big screen for the first time duking it out. What Lex Luthors hair looks like doesn't mean diddly squat to me.

In 5 years time they could make a DC vs Marvel movie. A thread would be made posting a trailer to it, it'd have Superman fighting Thor, Batman in his Batwing taking on Iron Man in the sky, The Flash blitzing the Hulk.

And someone would reply complaining because the lighting bolt on Flash's suit was too small.

reply

People have wanted this movie done right and everyone has differing expectations for their ideal version; for example I would've rather had a team up movie instead of them displaying uncharacteristic actions like Batman asking Superman if he bleeds and Superman attempting to murder him with heat vision but that's just me. The trailer had some impressive action scenes so if you're looking for that and don't care about weak scripts this is for you.

reply

1) That bleed line was 100% Batman.

2) That probably wasn't Superman. Look closely at the trailer. There's going to be a muscle physical villain.

Okay, so you complain about Deadpool having too much humour in it (core to the character) but you're okay with Batman vs Superman?

Sorry Scabab but... That's just plain retarded. If you think that fans were clamoring for another movie that paints Superman as fcking Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour then... You're pretty damn disconnected.

I mean, at least Deadpool is giving fans EXACTLY what they want, a real Deadpool movie, filled with blood, violence and jokes. Batman vs Superman? "Oh, hey, here, have some fcking Jesus symbolism for an hour, and let's throw Batman into it for the fcking lulz."

The biggest thing that annoys me is that they had the fcking balls to make Metropolis and Gotham sister cities... "You could take the ferry from Metropolis to Gotham if you wanted." That's not how this works. That's not how ANY of this works goddamn it!

That's a completely different thing. Deadpool is going to have a heavy focus on the humour and it is what could potentially ruin the movie because of it.

Things like what Lex Luthor's hair looks like doesn't matter in the slightest bit. There's already been an official picture showing the character bald anyway.

reply

Why would heavy focus on humour ruin Deadpool if the character IS a comical one. He's fcked up as Hell, he's been through Hell, his life is sh!t all the way, yet he doesn't break and laughs at whatever happens, quipping from Sh!tsville all the way to Septic Tank City.

That's what makes Deadpool great and THAT's what will make the movie great (at least from what I've seen).

For BvS, there's nothing that I've seen that I like because the characters don't act the way they should. Batman doesn't go immediate "Terminate Superman" mode when something like MoS happens. Superman doesn't doubt what he is doing or asks why he's doing it. He's a good man and does what he does because he wants to help. He doesn't need the Jesus exposition or "save them... Or don't" speech from his mother. He's a good man, that's all there is to it.

If anything, Batman would confront Superman, and ask him what the Hell his deal is. Maybe even trying to intimidate him a bit. But never go all aggressive from the get go. And neither would Superman. He'd find Batman and try to figure him out. Possibly ask him if he's on the good side and listen to his heartbeat to figure out if he's lying or not.

In all honesty, Batman vs Superman should've come AFTER a Justice League movie, where it ends with Batman and Superman having a falling out or something. THAT would've made sense, but starting them off as enemies? Bullsh!t. The only reason this is the next movie in the DCCU is because they're afraid that their ship will sink if they don't push out things that can be equal to Marvel.

Even if that is his character it can still become annoying incredibly fast. There's no saying the humour will even be funny to begin with.

Ryan Reynolds played Hannibal King in Blade 3 and kept making jokes like that and it one of the biggest reasons why the movie sucked. He was in X-men Origins, he wasn't in that much but kept making jokes and that started getting annoying.

If Deadpool is going to be like that throughout the entire movie it will ruin it and it will fail. People want Spider-man to make jokes but only here and there, not non stop throughout a two hour movie.

I don't particularly care how they're portraying Batman and Superman. There's dozen of interpretations of the same character and it gets boring after a while. A more no nonsense get things done Batman is a welcome change for me.

Nobody wants to see a Batman vs Superman movie where they just meet up and talk things out.

reply

You're making a lot of assumptions on this movie and it's still a year away. I keep hearing all the time how the hell can Batman even attempt to fight Superman? I'm wondering if any of those people actually ever READ a DC comic. Specifically, the Dark Knight Returns. I can tell without ever seeing confirmation that this movie borrows a lot from that series. Batman knows he can't physically stand toe to toe with Supe but he outsmarts him. His exoskeleton suit??? Directly from the comic. Can superman just blitz Batman and end his life?? Of course he could but he and Batman know he would never harm someone he knows is weaker than him.

Want an example, look at MoS again and the scene where the bar guy tries to push Clark and throws a drink in his face. Superman knows underneath that armor, Batman is just another human. As for this Jesus symbolism, that's your opinion but I definitely don't see it. I see a situation where these guys are trying to relate to how it would be if Superman was actually real. No one knows who this guy is but all of sudden he and another alien cause thousands of deaths through collateral damage and billions worth of damage. Some people would in reality view someone like that as a god; others would fear him as a threat which is exactly what this movie is doing. Batman sees him as a threat and it is not in Batman's character to walk up to threat and ask him what his deal is. That comment was utterly ridiculous. The government would in all honesty probably try and recruit a super powered being for their own purpose. All these things you say are perfectly logical in the real world if there actually was a Superman.

This trailer practically said everything I just mentioned but you seemed to not see it.
