The Saiyan Paradox

Why does everyone working for Frieza think the Saiyans are so weak?

If they do think this, why did Ginyu do a body swap with an "inferior" lifeform like Goku?

Also if Frieza is so affair of this Super Saiyan, why not kill just Vegeta, Nappa and Raditz? (Goku, she probably didn't know about)

I think at that time, the Saiyans weren't too tough a race of fighters, plus there were only a few of them so they were a fairly obscure race.

Okay, so if everyone thinks so little of the Saiyans, why did Ginyu do a body swap with Goku?

And if Frieza destroyed Planet Vegeta because of his phobia of Super Saiyans, why did he keep Vegeta, Nappa and Raditz alive?

Ginyu saw Goku's power level, decided it was better than his, took his body. They don't think the Saiyans are an inferior race or anything, they just never saw a "great" Saiyan. They just think of them as other fodder.

And if Frieza destroyed Planet Vegeta because of his phobia of Super Saiyans, why did he keep Vegeta, Nappa and Raditz alive?

To thin out the herd and minimalise the possibility of a Super Saiyan rising to the occasion. The fewer Saiyans there are, the less chance of a Super Saiyan emerging.

Freeza saw the value in Vegeta, Nappa and Raditz, but also saw that their power was limited and never grew too much. Thus, he was comfortable with keeping them around. People like Bardock, who went from 0 to potential threat in 1 day, had to be exterminated, thus he took out the planet.

Zarbon and Dodoria suggestion to Frieza to eliminate the Saiyan race pretty much sets the entire story in motion.
