Analyzing The SSJ Gene Theory

This will be a long post. Everybody who has watched the series, knows that becoming a Super Saiyan was a big deal in earlier episodes. There were even explosive battles before they were Super Saiyans. But, the series just continues with new Super Saiyan transformations, but most of us remember the Super Saiyan transformation the best. A Super Saiyan was a big deal, as the characters on Planet Vegeta weren't Super Saiyan. Goku was losing the battle against Frieza until he transformed into a Super Saiyan. Vegetal said that the legend had it, a Super Saiyan originated 3,000 years ago and could only maintain it in his ape state. Vegetal also said when Trunks became a Saiyan since when did the legendary warrior become a child's play thing.

So, this is one of the biggest unanswered D.B.Z questions. So, the theory we come up with is the Super Saiyan gene theory which makes sense. Even before there were Super Saiyans, Vegeta states a couple of times that the stronger the ancestors, the stronger the descendants. Even Gohan seemed more powerful than Goku as a kid with no real training before Piccolo, and I read somewhere that Gohan being a half-saiyan was even stronger than a regular Saiyan.

So, with the Gene theory, we know Goku was a Super Saiyan before Goten was born. I always wondered when Goten was conceived as he didn't exist in Future Trunks's timeline, and wasn't in the Cell Saga episodes, and Chichi didn't appear pregnant. I read off the internet that he was conceived before Goku's fight with Cell which seems like what the narrator said when he first introduced us to Gohan. That would most likely mean it was one of the 9-days and probably the last one. It also seems like it was an unplanned pregnancy, as Goku didn't know who Goten was when he first saw him.

But, that will bring up another thing and forgive me if this gets inappropriate. Watching those episodes before the Cell Games, we know that Goku and Gohan maintained their Super Saiyan form/Super Saiyan Full Power. If Goten was conceived around that time, that would indicate that Goku impregnanted Chichi in his Super Saiyan form which could further explain even more how Goten becomes a Super Saiyan so easily, as he seemed to be a Super Saiyan before Trunks and before his fight with his Mom.

Now, it makes sense for Goten but a lot of us don't think it makes sense for Trunks. Regular Trunks achieves it before and more easily than Future Trunks. We don't know when Vegeta becomes a Super Saiyan for the first time, but we think it's after Trunks is born. Even if Vegeta wasn't a transformation when Trunks was conceived, I'm sure he had the capacity to become one. Let's think when Goku first appears on Namek, he was considered a Super Saiyan before he even transformed. It was possibly that way with Vegeta, as he seems to train harder and through more gravity. We also think the Vegeta of the main timeline was stronger than Future Vegeta.

Regular Trunks probably had the ability to transform earlier with a stronger father who had the capacity to turn into a Super Saiyan when he was conceived even if he wasn't, and with more training with his Dad when Future Trunks didn't seem to have training before Gohan. Considering Future Trunks didn't have prior training, he also obtained Super Saiyan fast after he was trained.

So, that theory makes sense. Super Saiyan is a physical transformation, breaking a physical barrier inside yourself. Once that barrier broke, it became easier for the offspring to become Super Saiyan, and I guess the more strength, the stronger the offspring with my other theory. It's like lamarckism, ancestors break physical barriers that get passed down to their offspring for survival. It's like that way with giraffes, as scientists believe they had shorter necks a long time ago, but evolved to long necks for survival which got passed to their offspring.

To conclude, it's also the writing as I'm sure we can all agree that Toriyama sometimes wrote things without giving much thought into them. But, this theory really makes sense to the reason becoming a Super Saiyan stopped being a big deal.
