Does anyone else but me like DB more than DBZ?

And by the way, that doesn't mean I dislike DBZ at all. Seriously. DBZ is a 9/10, amazing show. But for me DB is 10/10. I just love little kid Goku constantly astonishing people with his strength and skill, plus his personality is great. And all the story lines were fun and creative. DBZ is more like a series of epic serious boss fights.

Are you not entertained?!

Not personally, but I go to forums where plenty of people prefer DB over the Z stuff. It has a different charm, no doubt.

I find them so different. I really love the comedy in Dragon Ball, the dialogue makes me laugh out loud constantly.

I think I like it more. They're both very different, but the original is more of an adventure series. Z was about grand battles.

I'd prefer Z over DragonBall. DragonBall Z was more about the battles, but I think DragonBall was a better written thought out of story. One saga, I like in DragonBall which I thought I heard was he most popular DragonBall Saga is the Red Ribbon Army Saga. The way the Red Ribbon Army Saga is portrayed during the Androids and Cell Saga is completely different from how we view them. Dr. Gero was never mentioned in DragonBall, and when Master Roshi recapped the Red Ribbon Army story to Maron he made mistakes, Tao was not a general and he didn't mention Commander Red and made it sound like Dr. Gero and Tao were the leaders of the army, when they weren't.

The Red Ribbon Army organization is still an impressive organization today. Those episodes aired almost 30-years ago and their technology and organization still seem impressive.

Also, in DragonBall we don't hear the word Saiyan and don't know Vegeta. It was a good adventure series where the characters were closer in power.

So, while I prefer Z I think DragonBall was more thought out.

Dragonball Z is by far my favorite anime. Toriyama's dragonball saga are the king of anime. It's no doubt the most iconic anime ever or at least in America. I think Akira is a very talented writer and is master at developing stories and creating characters but I do think that he sometime disregard characters and plot points to suit his story.

This is different from it's predecessor dragonball but makes for a good sequel. I like how in the dragonball series we get to see Goku, his friends and family grow up unlike most cartoon characters like Charlie Brown and the Simpsons who never age. In dragonball we see Goku as a kid, in Dragonball Z(dbz) we see Goku as an adult and dad and in Dragonball GT we see Goku as an old man and granddad. I like how dbz is split up in sagas then seasons and I think that's the best way to review it.

I like Dragon Ball but I do think Dragon Ball Z is pretty much better in every single way.

I would agree with you in that DB arguably has better character development and emotional pathos than DBZ, which is more centered on action and combat. But both series have their action and emotional/character development moments--especially Vegeta, Gohan, and Piccolo in DBZ and Goku, Krillin/Kururin, Bulma, Yamcha, and Tenshinhan/Tien in DB.

I think it depends on which saga you're talking about. I didn't care for the Pilaf saga at all, but I think the Red Ribbon saga was excellent and is better than the Cell and Boo sagas.
