Tien is stronger than Krillin

Ktillin's the strongest whether it makes sense or not. It's been said many times.

The only thing going for Krillin is toriyama says so,
Yeah, if it weren't for the fact that the guy who decides who's stronger than who told us that Krillin is stronger than Tien.... Tien would totally be stronger than Krillin!

Guys, Krillin's stronger. I don't care if Tien seems like he should be stronger, I don't care if you find Tien's actions more impressive, Krillin's stronger. Krillin passed him up when Guru unlocked his potential, and that's how it is.

Resurrection of F and Toriyama disagrees with you.

Krillin struggled against Freiza's henchmen and needed a senszu bean early on in the fight. Tien however didn't accept one until the entire group (including Gohan) agreed to eat beans.

going back to what some would consider original canon-

Tien held back Cell

Tien deflected a blast from Buu

What did Krillin do?

Cut off Frieza's tail and .... zzzzzzzzz

Until the Buu Saga, Krillin I personally believe was actually stronger, when you watch DB and up to the Cell Saga Krillin does actually seem pretty powerful, in DB he was able to fight evenly with Piccolo and even Piccolo was surprised by Krillins power and skill, and before that he almost beat Goku once. Get to the Saiyan Saga and Krillin took out nearly all the Saibamen with only a bit of effort, each one being as strong as Raditz. Then you get to the Freiza Saga and Krillin gets a power up from Guru. Then in the Cell Saga he well admittly didn't do much but he did help save some people from Cell and managed to do alright against first form Cell, hell when Trunks and Krillin rocked up Imperfect Cell knew it was time to bail (admittly this had more to do with Piccolo dominating him and Trunks being a super saiyan). Add in the fact Krillin has had the deadliest attack until you hit the enemies that can regenerate, with his destructo disc meaning if he ever hit anyone with it that are kinda screwed (Cell destroying it when hit was filler so doesn't count). So up till Cell Saga I could believe Krillin was stronger than Tien when you factor in Toriyama said so as well. Now Buu saga though completely different story, Krillin had stopped training and had settled down to have a family whereas Tien had never stopped training in all those years. So yeah even if Toriyama says so I find it hard to believe that Krillins power would still be above Tiens, hell we see how much Gohans power drops from not training, so imagine how much a normal humans does. Krillin probs kept fit but des wouldn't have trained like he use too and not to the extent Tien did. But yeah Krillin was always similar to Goku, in that he just had a natural talent for fighting and power. Though it was mostly shown in DB.

Tenshinhan was always the more serious and skilled of the two anyway, so I prefer the idea of him being stronger. Toriyama's word is all that proves otherwise.

Yeah, I just say look at the final duel between Cell and Gohan. When Krillen, Tien, Yamcha, and Piccolo are all blown away for the last time, Yamcha is the first to go, followed by Krillen, followed by Tien, then Piccolo. Also, Krillen couldn't have held Cell down the way Tien did.

This is why this place is in the dumps. Using anime and out of context "feats" is wasteful.

Cena doesn't overcome any odds. He's a wrestler with a God Mode cheat on.

Of course I'm biased, but that doesn't keep what you're saying from being ridiculous. You can name reasons why you think Toriyama shouldn't be the one who decides things in DBZ anymore all you'd like... but, he still does. George Lucas doesn't get to decide how Star Wars works anymore because he divorced himself from the franchise and gave it to other people. Toriyama didn't do that. So, it's still up to Toriyama. If you disagree with his decisions and think he's out of his depth, that's absolutely your prerogative. But it still has no bearing on the actual facts.

And, also, let's calm down about the supposed great complexity of Dragon Ball Z. It's not Star Wars, with its wealth of expanded universe - books, video games, cartoons, comics, etc. written by dozens upon dozens of people all changing the story and pulling the series in different directions. As for as what's really canon is concerned - it's one manga, and two or three shows adapting it. All of which Toriyama was in charge of writing. Literally everything that occurred (that we count) is stuff that Toriyama came up with. If the stuff he came up with is stuff you take seriously, then you have to take him seriously too. Otherwise you're just picking and choosing what you''d like to believe. Write your own damn show if you want to do that. This is his.

Dragon Ball Z canon is the manga and the two recent movies (possibly the Bardock and Trunks specials too, I forget the verdict on those). Events depicted in Dragon Ball/Z that are not present in it's respective manga and GT are non-canon. Toriyama didn't pen ALL of it and some of that has led to some confusions and debates which formed some kind of cross-canon that was present probably solely on this board. Hell, this very subject has come up and as a result of the aforementioned; the details are a bit fuzzy at the moment, but I think the pro-Krillin side was standing on a line about him being 'the strongest human on the planet' that was said in the show and not in the manga (which pro-Tien used, along with his various '> Krillin' feats)

I'll take a potato chip...and EAT IT!!

reply

No, not "human" (as even Vegeta and Ginyu were called humans), it was "earthling."
