Saw them in the Bardock movie, they were basically like the men. I don't think they needed to force one into the series, especially if saiyans just love to fight and are all the same.
I heard he had no clue on how he could draw Super Saiyan for women and make it look good, especially since before he had done an Earth lady whose hair turned different colors (Launch) and so he thought he might be repeating himself.

That's really interesting actually. Do you know if in the Manga or any part of GT or Super there are Super Saiyan women shown? I'd be curious ho that would even look.

Toriyama is from a forgotten generation of men who expect dinner on the table when they get home. They also believe women have no real opinions on matters other than raising children and stay-at-home life. He was constantly sick and admittedly said he was not fond of drawing females characters. He also stated drawing muscles on women was unattractive so any saiyan women transforming would have been hard to imagine. He basically made Pan a basic bitch for all intents and purposes.
