It’s a Titanic ripoff but the actual attack scene is very well done. Might be some of Michael Bay’s best work as an action director.

They are 2 totally different historical stories. This is a war movie

They are still kind of similar in that they are adaptations of historical events using made up fictional characters. They also both have a love triangle between 2 men and a woman. Sadly for Bay, it didn't get as much critical acclaim as Titanic. So after this movie Bay went back to making action movies.

Edit: I didn't know this til I just looked it up but this was nominated for worst picture at the Razzies and got other razzie nominations. That's stupid to me. This was not the worst movie I have ever seen and while it's not my favorite I can't say it's the worst picture ever. Then again the Razzies gave Rambo 2 worst picture. So what do they know?
