AMC version vs. Encore: Spoilers

I was glad to see the real version of P.H on Encore. The scene where Danny was shot by Japanese after the raid was edited by AMC. In this version, Danny died from wounds after his fatal crash. Why would AMC change a crucial scene?

Hey, don't wanna offend nobody, especially our friendly Japanese allies who were so seriously misunderstood when they attempted to liberate Asia from Western influence during the late unpleasantness.
