I watch this every year around December 7.

This film gets a lot of hate on this board but I enjoyed it enough to buy the dvd. What's not to like? There were cute guys in uniform, exciting action sequences and beautiful cinematography. The scenes of the attack on Pearl Harbor were a somber reminder of that tragic event and respectful of the sacrifices of the servicemen who experienced it. Bay did okay. Also, I thought Jon Voight's fine portrayal of FDR was unfortunately and inexplicably overlooked.

Sure, there was a good amount of cheese in this and while I didn't mind it for the most part, I can see where some people might have been disappointed if they were looking for a more serious war film that was solely a dramatization of the history. And of course some just don't like Michael Bay's style of filmmaking, period. As for me, I give Pearl Harbor a 7/10.
