I watched this movie for the first time today, 16 years after it's release and I'm surprised by how good it actually is!
I avoided it for so long because I always thought it was a bit of a cheesy war time love story but I'm pleasantly surprised. The action sequences are really good and it gives a shocking impression of what the panic and confusion must have been like at the time.
I'm not Ben Affleck's biggest fan, (I don't dislike him either) but I genuinely can't knock this flick.
Another pretty good war movie in my opinion.

It is indeed a well-made movie. It's a great throwback to the romantic/war movies of the 40s.

It's also quite awesome watching it on BluRay on a big ass screen at home. And the attack sequence is, IMO, one of the best action sequences ever. No doubt in my mind.
