difference between gong li's character and maggie cheung's

i've read a lot of posts regarding su li zhen, and haven't found which is the difference between gong li's character and maggie cheung's. aren't both supposed to happen in the 1960's?

any help with this, is greatly appreciated...

They're both named Su Li Zhen, but they are not the same PERSON.

One is a gambler with a mysterious past who wears a black glove on one hand and the other is the wife of a business man who is having an affair with his next door neighbour. I think the real question that we should ask in this thread is if Su Li Zhen from In The Mood For Love is the same person as Su Li Zhen from Days Of Being Wild? Everybody has a different opinion on that! I think they are the same person.

Yes they are! And the Su Li Zhen mentioned in this one is the very one from these two movies as well! So is Chow!
