Is the US version appropriate for my 13 yr old sister?
I was thinking of renting this and my sister said she might want to see it. I was wondering if it's ok.

Why on earth would you want to put your 13 year old sister through having to watch this film? Not that I've saying it's a bad film or a good film, but I don't think that too many 13 year olds would understand it or even be interested in watching it.
Rent Porky's instead.

If you think 13 year is not mature, wise enough, patient to watch a whole movie, unable to understand it, then please turn around and you'll see that apart from retarded and brainwashed kids there are still those who are able to think, observe, conclude. I, for instance, watched Bergman in my early schoolyears, and "Seventh Seal" has been one of my favorite movies from that distant age till today.

Well this movie has many sex scenes. But you will never see anything from them. It is totally safe to show to a 13 years old person. The thing is that she is probably is not going to enjoy/understand it. But anyaways and not trying to be blunt, 13 years old girls have probably seen much worse films if you are worried about nudity and sex scenes.
shareI am not usually the one who says sex in movies should be censored from kids, but I think the sex scenes in this are probably a little bit too mature for her. They aren't distasteful but a little graphic. Maybe in a year or two, but then again, it depends on how mature she is. I think at 13 I would of gotten embarrassed in watching it, but at 16 or 17 I probably would of gotten over watching some like that with someone I know.
shareMan, I think that's typical American... You get uncensored splatter movies in every *beep* corner, but when it comes to a few naked legs it's like "OH MY GOD, KEEP IT AWAY FROM THE KIDS!!!". I mean, come on... what do you believe?! That she's never seen a goddamn ass in her life?! That she doesn't know about bees and flowers yet?! It is *beep* ridiculous that this movie is rated R! As far as I know you have to be 17 then, right?! I don't think that anyone hasn't seen a hardcore porn yet when he turns 17! In Germany 2046 is available to 12 year olds...
Instead, it's hard to get an uncensored splatter or horror movie over here. But for real: I've never seen someone running amok because of some naked legs xD
Wow...well, I'm 18 and haven't seen porn...and we don't watch "splatter" movies either. And thanks for informing me about Germany (my family is from Germany). Maybe I'm not a typical American then, eh?

But it's a rather abstract film for a 13 year old though.
I'm a 14 year old boy and I highly enjoyed this movie, their is an insanely high amount of sex scenes, but none are that graphic. Their is a murder scene in this movie to, but you just see part of the body and blood in the room it's very brief. In my opinion this movie is fine for a 13 year old girl, and she should enjoy this film.

shareThere are a lot of sex scenes in the first half of the film, which doesnt show anything very graphic but its a bit awkward to hear a couple going at it when your sitting next to a family member. I was a bit surprised this was a cert 12 as some of the so called 'love' scenes are just sleaze.
