Even though he knew she was still in love with the Japanese guy, he didn't care because the connection he thought they had made him happy. When he finds out she's getting married his new happiness was over.
He was doomed to be a douche to women because every time he tried to have a nice/meaningful relationship he would get his heart broken. The only times he didn't get hurt was when he was being a dick or hanging out with hookers. A kill or get killed situation. The only thing that keeps his head up is that he can bang a lot of chicks. But at the end he realizes that he'll probably never get over Su no matter what, hence his lonely sadness in the taxi cab.
