Sorry if this is an obvious question but why does Agent Eric Matthews suspect Cheryl as the serial killer that they are after? Just because she is protesting animal rights?

I believe the animal rights group Cheryl was protesting with had a history of violent demonstrations.

The FBI is always going after the wrong person. If Richard Jewell was still alive he could tell you that.
