How did the garden gnome get to all of those places?

Obviously Amelie gave it to that woman, but what was she? A flight attendant or travel agent or something? I watched it twice and couldn't figure it out.

she was a flight attendant so she went to all of those places.

The character had a brief introduction early on. She was a flight attendant who was a friend of Amélie’s. Amélie took care of her cat when she was away.

And the cat's name was Rodrigue.
