Artichoke Question.

Sure this has been asked before don't have time to read all the comments
though. What does the grocer hide inside the artichoke that he presents
to the older man in his apt. One is wine and I forget the rest. Just curious. Cheers!

Caviar and champagne.

Which brings up another interesting question...

Why would an elderly gentlemen isolated from others want to dine on caviar and champagne?

It's not like there was going to be a party or something. Or, was there?

By the way, there is a reason why Lucien hid extroadinary things inside of common objects. He was learning from his Teacher:

"What is essential is invisible to the eye." !

Look where no one else is looking and see what no one else sees.

Thanks for the info.
Yeah it does seem weird that he did not seem like a party animal.
Oh well. I guess everyone deserves a nice glass of Champagne once
in a while.
Cheers.

living alone doesn't mean you have to eat boring food. maybe he has a taste for these fine and expensive eatables?

reply

Sure, but why hide it?

reply

probably because the dick of the shop owner would complain if the old man got fancy food
