Um, how does Jason...
How does he make the ol' switch-a-roo with the guy who calls him an ugly bastard? I know he's JASON and can do the unbelievable but this was a little too unbelievable even for this fan. Your thoughts?
shareJason Voorhees moonlights as an amateur magician. Also he can teleport. Additional he has the ability to clone himself.
By this point in the story Jason has drowned (at least once) and has been hacked, stabbed, hung, shot, electrocuted, set on fire, blown up. Plus he's actually died more than once and been reanimated.
It is safe to say that Mr. Voorhees has supernatural and superhuman abilities. He can do anything he wants.

@OP - is that the guy at the start "looking after" Jason ?
If so then iirc a bit they cut out (of the script or the film) was his girl friend coming in and their shenanigans causing a power line to come unplugged which somehow release Jason (can't remember how he was contained). After being released Jason then did stuff.
Even with these cuts I'm happy with the "OMG, how did he do that" shock and totally at ease with the film not spelling his actions out step by step in excrutiating detail. Less is more when it comes to Jason.
