I don't understand the title...
I mean, I see the obvious link to the first being 101 Dalmations...but I must confess: I sure as sh*t did NOT see 102 in this movie.

shareMac-59,
First of all the word "dalmatians" is not spelled d-a-l-m-a-t-i-o-n-s but spelled d-a-l-m-a-t-i-A-n-s. Second, if you watch the ending of the live action moive 101 Dalmatians, you will see that when the owners of the dogs count how many dalmatian dogs are there, that there is a hint suggesting that instead of 99 dalmatians (not counting the mom and dad dalmatians), there is another dalmatian dog that followed the other 99 dalmatians along with the mom dalmatian dog and the dad dalmatian dog. With the 99 dalmatians, the mom and the dad dalmatians along with the 1 dalmatian that followed the other dalmatian dogs home, that would equel 102 dalmatians. That would explain the reason for the title of the movie. Another reason would be that instead of calling the movie 101 Dalmatians 2, the producers thought that it would be cute to call the movie 102 Dalmatians with the 2 representing that the movie is a sequel to 101 Dalmatians. I hope that helps.
Actually, the reason I didn't see the D-A-L-M-A-T-I-A-N-S was because I fell asleep about halfway through. Also, you've tought me to spell but torn me apart at the same time.
I pride mysellf on my speling.
in the first movie, Cruella needed 99 puppies to make her coat. Add to that the mum and the Dad, and you have the 101 that the title refers to.
In the second film, Cruella again wanted the coat made, but in order to get revenge on her parole officer, she added a hood, to be specially made from her parole officer's three puppies.
99 for original coat + 3 for hood = 102 dalmatians
Plus it was the sequel. In which case it works like Ocean's twelve

I keep saying "101 Dalmatians" when referring to this movie.
