I don't Really like games separate, but rather in their own series. There are my TOP series:

1. Legend Of Zelda Series
2. Chrono Series
3. Mortal Kombat Series
4. Metroid Series
5. Tales of... Series

That's sorta the order. Actually, Number 3 and 4 are in a draw.

2. Chrono Series(although Trigger is my #1 game!)

5. Uhh... we'll call this the "anything by Capcom" series

NES:
Dragon Warrior IV
Battletoads
Metroid
Bionic Commando
Castlevania III
Mega Man II
Tecmo Super Bowl
Contra
King's Quest V
Mike Tyson's Punch-Out
Legend of Zelda
Micro Machines
Crystalis
Super Mario 3

SNES:
Super Castlevania IV (Perfect)!
TMNT: Turtles In Time (Dynamite)!
Donkey Kong Country 2 (Magical)
Final Fight 3 (Surprising)
Chrono Trigger (How'd they do this?!)
WWE Royal Rumble
Super Mario Kart
Super Mario World
Lufia: Fortress of Doom (I love it)
Super Street Fighter II

...just to name a few.

Also Diddy Kong Racing for N64. It's the only game from one of the "newer" systems that I've beaten and do not own.

I've also played Capcom vs. SNK 2 for the PS2, loved it.

I haven't played many of the great games yet, I'm still stuck in an old-school phase though, and don't know if I'll ever get out of it!!!
