Any big differences or is it basically the same game just on a new format?

i'm a few days late on this. it's roughly the same game just using the DS format. the most noticeable differences to me from the SNES and PS1 to the DS were that the japanese to english translation was better, Frog no longer speaks in 'old english' :( Frog's water magic was taken away, and the 'Spire' dual tech between Frog and Crono was removed.

i'm at the end of my first run through on the DS, i think it was a good port overall.

I played it when I was stuck on planes and in airports all weekend and its been pretty enjoyable...

What are you talking about? Frog definitely still has water magic in the DS version. Also, the dual tech Spire is still in the game, but it was renamed Lightning Rod.

There are a couple things added to the game in the DS version.
