Simulated Reality in Chrono Trigger?

From Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simulated_reality

Simulated reality is the hypothesis that reality could be simulated—for example by computer simulation—to a degree indistinguishable from "true" reality. It could contain conscious minds which may or may not be fully aware that they are living inside a simulation.

This is quite different from the current, technologically achievable concept of virtual reality. Virtual reality is easily distinguished from the experience of actuality; participants are never in doubt about the nature of what they experience. Simulated reality, by contrast, would be hard or impossible to separate from "true" reality.

In the list of works featuring simulated reality, Chrono Trigger is listed. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simulated_reality_in_fiction#Computer_and_video_games

It's been a while since I've played the game. Can anybody tell me what part of the game involved Simulated Reality? Only thing that came to mind is when you first travel to the future and see what happened on the Day of Lavos...

As is "The Matrix".

Which came out in 1999, the same year that Lavos destroyed the earth!

When they are sitting around the fire after finding Robo in the year 1000 with the forest rebuilt he talks about how everything they were going through might simply be someone's dream. I'm guessing the implication on the wikipedia page is that Robo was right and whoever posted that to wikipedia believes they are in a simulated reality - however, the Japanese version implies that the entity dreaming is actually the planet itself and at the end of the complete game when the characters say they believe this entity is finally at peace they are essentially saying the Earth is well again because Lavos is gone.
