The scene with the Asian shopkeeper was racist, but in movies it is considered A-OK to stereotype Asian people. When presenting the leading black characters however, they had to have a lame anti-stereotype, and show how "smart" they were, all up into "metaphysics" n' science n' sh**.

It was extremely embarrassing to watch.

I can't blame anyone but the actors for volunteering to work in movies like this.

For some odd reason, directors seem smarter than their uneducated subordinates, and can manipulate them into believing that the sky is blue.

Look at what Quentin Tarantino did to Samuel Jackson. Though Jackson claims, he "conjugates verbs" and believes he's extremely intelligent? His career choices, prove otherwise. He spends less time "cogitating the fact" that his choice of roles = cultural impact. If he can "separate his choices" from his personal integrity - then Tarantino has won over a fool, with pay.

And like the rest of the "fools" in Hollywood? What it all comes down to - "work is work"..
