The actor, Richard Crenna Died in 2003. So They killed the character

if you are watching the show on UP/GMC

Up is a religious network. They skip episodes with content they don't approve of

The episode where he dies, "Requiem" is one of the episodes they skip.

Jarrod was Maxine's boyfriend right? The one with the son who didn't like her.

reply

yes, that was Jared

reply

Oh wow, I knew the character had died. I never knew it was the actor that had died. I just thought they'd decided to kill off the character to keep Maxine from going to China.

reply

nope. Richard Crenna's unexpected death prompted the writers of the series to have his character Jared die unexpectedly

the episode where He Dies is skipped on UP/GMC because Amy and Stuart go camping and it's implied that they had sex

reply

Thank you.

Yeah, UP is really ticking me off. They just aired the episode where Eric killed that guy that was stalking Amy and family, and just jumped ahead to the episode where Michael is seeking full custody. I'm getting really sick of UP's games.

Thanks for the info, I actually stopped watching not long after because here in Australia channel 11 show it during the day (I'm on maternity leave and it coincides with nap time!) and they're messing it all about too, one day Amy has short hair and has moved out, the next its long again and she's back at home, I just got too annoyed with it all. Shame really as I was enjoying the show.

I like being a mess. It's who I am

Sounds like they are airing the episodes out of order. the American Network that has it, UPTV (formerly GMC) skips about 30% of the series since they are a religious network

you can't really do that with a show like Judging Amy.

reply

Not any more... That episode has been on pretty often now.... Crenna's last episode was the one where the son quit the company and he had to head back to China... At the time I suspect the producers were planning something for the end of the season but then Crenna died and the last episode was a memorial for Crenna... The episode where they announced his death was skipped for a while but it's shown now in the proper order.. Next scheduled time in Monday 6/2 at 2pm.. All episodes of season 4 are shown..

I see. I read on Up's website that they gained rights to more episodes but still skip some due to subject matter

from UP's Site Some of the episodes we don't air due to subject matter, however we do air them in order. Also, we now have rights to a larger number of episodes, so you should be seeing more of them...and in order.

Thanks for your question! I hope this helps clear things up a bit!

Still Skipping episodes is a deal breaker for me

Yes, and they worked his cause of death into the episode, too. Apparently Richard Crenna was having some back pain and ignored it, just like Jared. He thought the pain was related to his cancer. So his death was very unexpected and sad.

UP had "Requiem" on this afternoon which has been a skipped episode in the afternoons.. Noticed when the NFL game got out of hand.. Slipping it in maybe when nobody regular is watching??? UP having an afternoon of JA during the NFL... Maybe showed episodes they normally don't???

reply

I don't think football has anything to do with it. they're also airing Everybody Hates Chris, which seems odd for gmc/up to air.

somethings up [no pun intended]. They might be listening to their viewers

but Then again, they are still censoring words like damn and hell

reply

OK I just checked up's website and their judging amy page.
