Season 1 available on DVD at amazon.co.uk

Season 1 on DVD (released for the Scandinavian market) is now available from amazon uk

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Judging-Complete-Season-Region-Import/dp/B0060 276UO/ref=pd_vtp_d_h__1

The release is perfect for the English speaking market, too, no lip-sync, English menus, you can turn off subtitles, even the printed text on the discs and the cover inserts are in English! Only a cardboard wrap which you can trow away is in Danish/Swedish/Norwegian.

Go and get it, so we can hopefully get the rest of the seasons sooooon

This is a region 2 release, so fans in other regions (e.g. US and Canada) should be sure they have a region free player before buying this. Region 4 (Australia) apparently has its own release.

Thanks for the alert. I've just purchased one.

Great! Come back and tell us how you liked it

reply

Please do let us know ... I'm interested in purchasing myself. Hope it's good!

It's Amazon UK. This is a region 2 code DVD. US buyers should make sure you have the equipment to play it before you buy it.

reply

Yes, that's true - I'll edit the first post to make sure the region issue gets attention.

reply

Bump - I hope there are still people out there buying this set, because I don't think we'll be seeing a release of the other sesons otherwise

Amy herself said why there is no DVD

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iPwjCsMPTD0

She might be talking about the US here but the reason she gave might also apply to further non-US releases

reply

She made that comment before the Scandinavian and Australian release of season 1. I'm not going to try to guess who in the end fronted the money and got the dvds made, but obviously someone managed to make the right decision even if it's only for some markets. I don't think there's any reason to believe that season 2 is somehow harder to publish than season 1, but they're not going to do it if season 1 doesn't sell well. And that's where we can make a difference

Still hoping for more seasons on dvd

reply

I have the S1 dvds.
Anyone know where to watch the rest of the series online?

reply

Unfortunately, the quality of the (illegal!) versions of the remaining seasons (which can usually be found on for instance youtube) is so poor they are hardly worth your time.

Still hoping for more dvd releases. Or netflix!
