Why oh why do Americans remake classic British films and bollox up each and every one of them. They hire people without a scrap of talent or cultural subtlety and mangle films that were acknowledged as superb and made by people who were among the best in the business. The British have Mike Hodges, the yanks have Mike Bay. I know which one I'd pick everytime, 'Morons From Outer Space' not withstanding. Let's just hope the *beep* don't try to remake 'The Long Good Friday', 'Scum', 'Quadrophenia' or 'Babylon'.

carter - was totally killed, the plot was old day "ronnie and reggie" type gritty gangland.
it was the 70's, caine was the perfect actor for it.
then you see like you said the new itialian job, again murdered,

Just keep your fingers crossed they don't decide to remake Richard Burton's vastly underrated 'Villain' either. Can you imagine an Americanized Vic Dakin (SHUDDER!!!!!)
