Hard to follow ...
A remake or not this movie was difficult to follow. Stallone plays a real tough guy who doesn't stop until he gets the job done. He plays a mob inforcer very convincingly. Anyone he incounters has to take him seriously. I've read stories on folks living the mob life and they can be very gentle but don't cross them. In the scene with Alan Cumming, who plays the computer mogul Kinnear, Stallone confronts him on a members only golf course. Stallone 'convinces' Cumming to take a ride on a golf cart to discuss what Cumming (Kinnear) knows about the death of Stallone's (Carter) brother. Kinnear doesn't give Stallone much information but Stallone's ability to intimidate works.
The only criticism is the movie was hard to follow because of what I found to be choppy editing. Stallone is very resilient and Rourke (Paice) is gritty as a local boss (mob) who operates a prostitution business.
Clean up the editiing and I believe 'Get Carter' would've done better at the box office.
