Doreen and Jack (Possible Spoilers)

I was wondering, could Doreen be actually Jack's daughter? I noticed a few hints in the movie that could lead to the idea that Jack and Richie's wife had an affair, and Carter tells the waiter (the guy he throws from a balcony, don't remember his name) "What would you do if it was your daughter?"... And the way Jack reacts after learning what happened to her is more what you would expect from a father rather than an uncle... Don't you think?

I got the same impression when watching this too.

So I went and watched the original again, and there is a scene where one of the characters basicially says the same thing.

This is excerpt from the script I found online

"Frank said you were a s*@! and he was bloody well right."

Carter turns to leave. Keith continues, crying and angry.

KEITH
"You even screwed his wife, didn't you?"

Carter shuts the door, leaving Keith shouting after him.

KEITH
"The poor bastard didn't even know if the kid was his."

He falls back on to the bed, crying out in pain.

I think this confirms your thought that Jack was Doreen's father.

Wow I never caught that subtext. It's playing now I think I am going to have to rewind and rewatch.

I get the feeling that Doreen is Jack's daughter as well. I guess that dialogue and what he says to that guy before throwing him out the window says it all.
