I have a lot of questions about this movie and I hope you can help!!

Another question I have in mind is how does Carter get his car to Seattle? Doesn't he take a train? Or is the car a rental? But it can't be a rental because at the end Jack is driving back home in it. What did he buy the rental?

A thought occured to me, was the car stored on the train? I've been on this train before where you can store your car on it and when you get off the train they unload all the cars and you get your's.

Richie's dead becuz he found out his daughter Doreen got unwittingly involved in the porn biz by Eddie. (Richie had the disk stashed in his home as proof.)So Cyrus had some of his guys get him drunk, beat him up, pour liquor all over him & "wrap his car around a tree." Drunk Driving?!?

Cyrus Paice (Mickey Rourke) runs the biz & has Eddie draw in the young crowd, using Geraldine to bate them, too. You can see them on the DVD. (Remember Doreen said Eddie worked for/with her father & "he was really nice" & asked her if she wanted to go to a party? She was obviously enthralled by him. She didn't know she'd be taken advantage of by either drink, drugs or both.) Eddie films the rapes in the car he picks up the girls in & then in the room where the dirty deeds take place. He no doubt does this for Cyrus Paice as part of his on-line porn shows & Eddie gets paid handsomely for it.

Jeremy has loads of money & helped Paice get on-line but he does NOT want to be linked to him in any way even tho Paice 'pulls' for him in the female dept. (Maybe in the male dept., too given the way Jeremy talks about his cappacino maker who's really just around "for decoration".) Jeremy had no part in Richie's death & that's why Carter (Sly's character) lets him go. Plus it seems he's developed more of a conscience & a bit of warmth about himself dealing with his neice, Doreen. "La Familia", ya know?

Richie's problem was getting involved with Geraldine in the first place instead of staying faithful to his wife who either didn't know about the affair or just didn't want to admit to it. You really can't tell with the way she knocks away Carter's questions to her about it.

So Paice wanted Richie dead becuz Richie would have no doubt went to the cops about the whole porn biz, esp. being that minors were involved like Doreen.

Since Carter retrieved the disk, & Brumby (Michael Caine) knew he had it, he went to look for it in Carter's car & found it. Brumby's connection with Paice? No doubt, he supplied the liquor for Paice's place? I don't know - ya got me on that one!

Anyway, after Carter did what he thought best - kill all those involved with huring his family - he took off back to Vegas in his rental car to no doubt get his girlfriend out of the clutches of her 'boss', who is also Carter's 'boss'. (I think said boss should be careful who he hires as his 'financial adjuster'. That adjuster may just come after HIM, which I imagine is just what happens.)

Something I wonder? How could Carter leave 3 dead bodies in those different locations & NOBODY bothered him about it?!? He killed Eddie, throwing him out a high window & onto an alarm-blaring car down below. He killed Cyrus Paice AT A PARTY by shooting him in the face while the guy is lying on the floor all beat up. He also shot Brumby in the back in a parking garage. HE GOT AWAY WITH EVERY MURDER! BUT that's his job & he's obviously VERY good at it.

I LOVE Sly's look in this - the goatee & shiney suits, even tho everyone there in Seattle makes fun of him.

I liked the explanation by Mycatslyone and here's my take on some of the blanks that need to be filled in. It's just my opinion though.

Brumby was Cyrus' backer (remember Jack asking who Cyrus is working with and I think Cyrus replied "somebody, what do you care" )in the porn business and most likely set up the connection between Cyrus and Jeremy.

Richie was in on the rape tape process with Eddie and Cyrus ( remember Cyrus says to Jack the Richie was involved in something ) until he finds out that Doreen is victimized then threatens to go to the cops.

I often wondered if Jeremy was involved in the actual rape sex, but that's neither here nor there.

Brumby was probably selling the dvd as underground porn since I don't think it would be wise to post actual rape scenes on an internet porn site. ( After he retrieves the disk from Jacks car, he says "I have my disk") So I conclude the Brumby is the brains behind the entire operation.

What I keep rolling over in my head is why Con betrays Jack to Fletcher. Only thing I can think of considering that line " were partners if your screwed, I'm screwed" Con realized that when Fletcher untilmately found out about Audrey and Jack, he would assume Con knew and would kill him for not telling.
