Big Tobacco Money?

Does anybody know if the Tobacco Industry put up any money for this picture as there seems to be a lot of cigarette smoking.I mean it reaches a level of self parody when clouds of smoke rise up in front of the lens. It reminded me of a Your Show Of Shows parody. Usually this is because of paid for product placement.

I thought it might have been an homage to the original. I haven't seen the original, but I am assuming there was a lot of cigarette smoking in it seeing as how it was made in 1970/71. You are right, it was borderline ridiculous for the year 2000.
