I might give it another shot sometime but...

...I just felt it was a bit more style over substance. I think everyone invovled did an excellent job, especially Stallone who suprised me with the Carter character, but I think this one, like many early 2000s films, tried too hard to be "edgy" or "cool" in the editing/direction category and it actually distracts a bit more than elevates. Same with the music, but it was well acted and kept me engaged for the most part, so I'm kind of on the fence. I feel like I SHOULD have enjoyed it more, but all I could muster up was a 6.

ANyone else feel the saem way or find a greater appreciaton on repeat watches? I have seen many films that get better with a rewatch so Im hoping this one does. I'm a huge Stallone fan.

What say you about Get Carter? And Before you ask, I have never seen the original...

Oh I travel, a sort of licenced troubleshooter.

I agree. I'm also a huge Stallone fan and I liked him in the role but for the edgy style thing you mentioned I think another perhaps younger actor may have better suited a film like this.

It's a decent movie though that if I come across it on tv I'll watch it again.

reply

Yeah, I can see that and agree!

And exactly how I feel. If it was on, I would watch it too!

Agree with all points and I think Stallone was the best part of the movie, creating a friendlier Jack Carter than Michael Caine's original version, which I personally feel has a more interesting coherent story.šŸ
