No, just so much no. And I dearly hope that Christensen has played a Sephiroth rip-off in some movie I've never heard of, because if you are implying what I think you are, I must point out that realistically there is a slim chance George Lucas even knows what Final Fantasy is. The second list is okay; I don't agree with some choices, but at least they're pretty much all good actors.

That said, my dream cast for FF7 would only have been possible back around 2007.

Cloud - Heath Ledger (that's why)
Tifa - Hayley Atwell
Barret - Ving Rhames
Aerith - Jewel Staite (or possibly Rooney Mara, though she would have been a bit on the young side)
Sephiroth - Michael Fassbender (Cillian Murphy and Benedict Cumberbatch being very close seconds)
Cid - Hugh Laurie
Vincent - Alan Cumming
Yuffie - Ellen Wong
Reeve / Cait Sith - David Tennant
Zack - Joseph Gordon-Levitt
Professor Hojo - Gary Oldman
Rufus Shinra - Tom Hardy
Heidegger - John Rhys Davies
Scarlet - Portia di Rossi
Reno - Christian Kane

I also wouldn't have Red XIII talk at all, which I think would be more interesting but then that puts me in the minority I suppose.

A live action would ruin Final Fantasy 7, face it no one will look right as any of the characters, look at Dragon-ball Evolution it was awful even Goku's hair looked stupid.. and trying to humanise a Namekian. imagine how they would butcher Final Fantasy 7..

Copypasting my list:

Before anyone says it, yes, I realize that there's absolutely no chance of an adaptation being made. This list is just for fun.

This is a "complete" list for a live action cast of the Final Fantasy series (minus FFXI and FFXIV since I never played those) that various GameFAQs users and I came up with. (With help from a few people from other boards and YouTube.) I consider this "complete" since all the main characters for each game are here already. (Minus masked and/or CGI characters.) There are also some minor characters missing, but I decided to stop here anyway because this will get outdated unless I revised it constantly and I don't want to do that.

So this is our Final Fantasy live action cast list for 2007-2011.

(Bear in mind that the list was started nearly five years ago. Some actors/actresses have since gotten too old or too popular for their roles. Basically, this list has a set time when it could've been made.)

That said, any feedback, and new or better suggestions would still be appreciated.

Nic Cage in every role - not even mo-cap so it's different characters, literally him in a room doing a one man show that takes fifty hours.

So not to resurrect a dead thread but...

I've always thought David Bowie in Labyrinth would be a guideline for what Sephiroth should be like.

I also think Ryan Gosling in Drive would be a very good early Cloud, although he might have trouble playing him later in the story as that requires a little more emotion than I've seen out of Ryan Gosling...

I like the above idea about Gary Oldman playing Hojo.
