Live action adaption

Recently I've heard rumours that Universal Studios is considering filming a live action adaption of Final Fantasy VII.

some rumours I've heard include;
- Universal studios is in pre-production stages of filming Final Fantasy VII or is at least considering it
- Jude Law may be portraying Sepiroth, Australian Actor Ryan Kwanten may be portraying Cloud and Natalie Portman may be portraying Aerith

Just wanted to see if anyone else can confirm these rumours or has more to share

Nope, never heard of that. It's probably made up fan stuff, considering I've heard all of that same info mentioned dozens of times over the past 5 or so years.

considering I originally saw the info on wikipedia leads me to believe its false, I just wanted to double check

A television series in the mode of Game Of Thrones is the only way to do it.

Considering the appeal of the game if they did it right (which they probably wouldn't) it would be a major hit.

Funny that you mentioned Rampage as the casting choice.

I always thought Mr. T was the model for Barrett. (Both played BA Baracus).
