This show reminds me of my childhood

Just dropped by to say this

Yeah! It was exciting to watch and impressionable. A show full of hidden traps, treasures and hidden clues modelled on the Indiana Jones original show. But then we grow up and move on to other things but still retain fond memories of Relic Hunter.

I don't mind Relic Hunter as a distraction from real life but it could have been better if the producers had cast a real tough guy instead of Nigel Bailey as Sydney's weak assistant in fights. He really couldn't do anything here at all. He was really competent at deciphering ancient texts--which was his field of specialty. Most of the time, Sydney had to bail him out of trouble. At least in the Indiana Jones series, you only had one tough guy--Indy--most of the time and he still had to bail out his female companions in the 1981 classic 'Raiders of the Lost Ark' and in the 1984 movie episode 'Temple of Doom.'

I liked Nigel Bailey. He didn't have to be a tough guy because we already had Sydney in that role. Nigel was the comedic relief. They were the role reversals of traditional adventure show characters with Sydney as the hero and Nigel as the damsel in distress.

It's one of those days...
