A Little Overly Manipulative

I loved the book and NO, this isn't a "the book was better post". I just felt the movie tried just a little too hard to work the audience over. The simplicity of the book didn't quite carry over to the film. Didn't really care for Azaria's portrayal and Lemmon did just OK. How come TV movies always feel a little lesser than films--I know there's the money issue, but still.

I agree. When watching, I felt that the movie was trying too hard to make the audience emotional. Morrie just started to become a bit annoying after awhile. I didn't feel connected enough with the characters. But I don't think the movie was horrible, just 7 out of 10 in my opinion.
