i just recently read the book for my AP Language class for summer reading and i found it to be very good. I havent seen the movie, but i couldnt imagine the book being made into a movie, it just doesnt seem right.
btw if i had a dog, which i dont right now, i would call it Morrie
Yeah I've not seen the movie either... in fact I just recently found out that there is one. Is the movie as good as the book? (to anyone who has read the book and seen the film) sorry if there is a different thread about that, I just haven't noticed it!
Yeah, I agree.. I just finished the book, but I've never seen the movie.. The book is really a quick read.. It's very inspirational.. It made me see the miraculous aspects of the most mundane things in life.. We should really think of the things we take for granted and don't appreciate enough.. Morrie was a courageous man!! Prior to reading this, my knowledge of Mitch Albom was of a sports writer who for years, appeared every Sunday morning on the Sport Reporters. Therefore, it was totally unexpected that he would move me as he did.. In my life, I've also had a close relationship with a teacher, so I completely related to the story..
I read the book and finished it the day before yesterday. It was awesome. Couldn't put it down. (Id never say that if it weren't true). I was interested in the book because I read Mitch's book 'the 5 people you meet in heaven' last summer. It is a quick read. I finished each book in about 2-3 days.
Like a few posts before me I can relate to the book. I was very close to my form teacher at high school. She was so cool but sadly last year she died of cancer. She wasn't old cause she just got married the year before. She even showed our class her photos. I have our form year photo in my bedroom and she's in it. We recieved them in May 2006 and come November I could bearly look at it without crying. It still hard to accept it.
I'd LOVE to see this movie and I'll find a way of seeing it lol.
RIP Mrs. Whittaker, (Mrs. Currie before she got married) Gone but not forgotten x
