Snow White Casting
Anyone know why they chose a morbidly obese actress to play Snow White. Were they trying to make a political statement?

shareMorbidly obese, really? I would say over-weight, yes but morbidly obese makes me think of those 600+ lb people that can't even get out of bed without assistance.
Anyway, to answer your question, I read somewhere that it was done intentionally to show that beauty doesn't have to be skinny and that it would be funny that she let herself go in the years past her happily ever after. I think she is a pretty character, far prettier than the evil queen whom is supposed to be the fairest in the land when Virginia looks at her hand mirror.
