I love the first 1/2 to 2/3's of this movie.

and I'll watch it almost every time it's on because of this. I didn't really like the way they resolved everything and how it all turned out. His job, her job, them ending up together. I actually like Marisa Tomei's character a lot more and I found her much more attractive.

I've always have loved this movie and it has hits and misses but I didn't like Marisa's character...it was too overly dramatic and neurotic in my opinion...I've always loved Helen Hunt...she's the REAL girl next door type...

I agree. The movie is enjoyable, but needed a better third act.

I thought that Mel and Helen had great charisma. And the movie was building up to them, getting together in the end. The only question that remained for me was how and when.

I agree. Tomei was super hot in this movie and it's a bit shameful how Gibson treats her, even though he is supposedly "thoughtful" and "sensitive". Bull.

How funny— I'm the same way with preferring the first 1/2 to 2/3 of the movie. I lose interest toward the end but I really love the beginning/middle.

I'd have to wholeheartedly agree with you, everything up until the third part of the movie was absolutely fantastic.

Unfortunately, once he wasn't able to hear what women were thinking, that's when the movie started to drag. Plus, the ending with Helen Hunt's character firing him but deciding to get romantically involved? Eh, the writers could have came up with something a wee bit better.

Still, it's an overall great film. It has that charm and wit that most romantic comedies seem to lack nowadays.
