The biggest implausibility

And I'm surprised nobody says anything about that: somebody like Rusty Nail would have never taken the bait in the first place. He would have never ask for a girl in the radio. Psychopaths are cautious and distrustful by nature, and specially somebody like him is the kind of guy who likes to take advantage of the situations and is very metodical, something completely opposite to go to a blind date. It's ridiculous the idea of somebody who's so good ad catching people by surprise, being catched so easily as well. Usually psychopaths flirt random girls in the streets or everywhere they can feel safe, whatever that can mean. Good movie, I liked a lot, but it's on my top five unrealistic films ever.

Here's an interesting theory... What if Rusty Nail knew it was never a woman and they were messing with him? What if he was following them the whole time, even before he points out that he is? What if his initial insecure lonely guy response to Candy Cane's invitation was just an act? What if he wasn' t tormenting the guys as an act of revenge but for a thrill instead? It would make sense considering how he plans everything out so perfectly. If he can locate and kidnap women so easily, why would he need to scope out a woman on a CB radio?

Well, that's the thing. He was an insecure psychopath. He messed with them just for the thrills. He tried to meet up with Candy Cane because he thought it might be a freebie, but he knew that it was probably too good to be true.

The biggest implausibility is that the trucker always seems to be one step ahead of them at every stage an watching them rather intimately all the time. He knows that they are brothers, even though they've never mentioned it. He knows the name and whereabouts of the roommate of the crush of one of the main drivers at a college halfway across the country. He knows exactly where the girl is hiding in a massive corn field.

He knows everything. He is an omniscient being. You can't beat that.
